Looking for God in depression, darkness, and everyday trials

A Christian blog about human suffering

Not everyone struggles with clinical depression. But everybody hurts; all of us experience heartache and pain. This world is a broken place filled with broken people who want to make sense of their suffering. Why does God allow His people to go through difficult times? Why doesn’t He save us from pain?

Written by a Christian with depression, Still Small Voice  wrestles with these questions, listening for God’s voice in the many storms of life. Some posts are written about depression itself. Other posts touch on particular trials we face each day. Yet others are more devotional, using Scriptural passages and quoting past believers in an attempt to support, empathize with, and challenge readers, no matter what situation they may be facing.
